Obituary

Lois Marie Diehl, formerly of Blackwell, died early Wednesday morning, September 30, 2015, at her home in Stillwater, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years.

Lois "Sammie" Marie Diehl was born the daughter of Clyde and Marie (Jewell) Reddick in Pawnee, Oklahoma on April 26, 1927. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and raised her children in Blackwell, Oklahoma, attending St. Joseph's Catholic Church. At age 14 she went to work at a confectionary shop and married her high school sweetheart, Rudolph J. McKinley, who was later killed in France during World War II in 1944.

Lois and Rudolph had a son; Rudy J. McKinley Jr. who passed away in 1970. Lois later met James F. Diehl and they took their vows at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and later had their four daughters. Lois and James owned and operated Diehl's Foodlines in Fairfax, Oklahoma, and later moved to Blackwell where they owned and operated a Western Auto Store for three years. They then established Diehl's Package Store, which Lois managed for 40 years. Lois retired at age 75 and moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Rudolph, and their son Rudy. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Bob Reddick, and a sister, Velma Reddick Walenciak.
Lois is survived by her four daughters; Sharon Lorenz, Mary Diehl, Robin Caughlin, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Susan Willoughby. Lois is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her longtime friend, Harold Babcock of Blackwell, Oklahoma.

An Evening Prayer Service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Father Ben Lwin officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfax Cemetery in Fairfax, Oklahoma.
