Lindy Eugene Jefferson of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died July 18, 2010, the result of a drowning accident on the Chikaskia River north of Blackwell at the age of 48 years.

Lindy Eugene Jefferson was born on May 20, 1962, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Robert Eugene and Barbara Jean (Newland) Jefferson. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. Following his education he worked in the oilfield.

He is survived by his children, Lindsey Jefferson of Red Rock, Oklahoma, Robert Jefferson of Red Rock, Oklahoma, Justin Jefferson of Red Rock, Oklahoma, Ryan Jefferson of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Erica Jefferson of Blackwell, Oklahoma; his brother, Darrell Jefferson of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two sisters, Vickie Jefferson of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Patty Harman and husband Lee of Blackwell, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; three nieces; and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two nephews.

A private family memorial service will be held on Thursday morning, July 22nd in the Nardin United Methodist Church in Nardin, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin.

A memorial has been established in his honor with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
