Linda Kaye Reser of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday morning, July 19, 2013, at her mother's home in Blackwell at the age of 57 years.
Linda Kaye Reser was born on April 8, 1956, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Verne L. and Mary Eloise (Hawkins) Reser. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1974. She furthered her education by attending Northern Oklahoma Junior College in Tonkawa before completing her bachelor's degree in social work from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. She then continued at Northwestern where she pursued and completed a master's degree in social work. Upon completion of her education, she began her career as a social worker at the hospital in Winfield, Kansas. She later worked for the American Legion Children's Home in Ponca City as a social worker. Linda also worked as a cook at various restaurants in the area. She enjoyed genealogy, her many pets, riding motorcycles, computer work and her family.
She is survived by her mother, Eloise Reser of Blackwell; a brother, David Reser and wife Janet of Blackwell; a niece, Dawn Sheaffer and husband Mike of Dallas, Texas; a nephew, Kyle Reser and wife Casey of Edmond, Oklahoma; and two great nieces, Elle Sheaffer and Evelyn Reser.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a brother, Michael Reser.
A graveside memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 22nd at the Blackwell Cemetery with the Rev. Milo Davis of Christ's Church in Blackwell officiating.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
