Obituary

Lillie Simunek was born on July 12, 1915, on the family farm east of Hennessey, Oklahoma, to Joseph and Louise (Vrska) Kudlac. She was the eldest of six children. Lillie attended Centerview School and graduated the 8th grade.

On January 8, 1935, she married Anton J. Simunek and they settled on a farm in the Hennessey - Marshall area. In 1957 they moved to Blackwell where they resided until the death of her husband in March of 2005. In May of 2005 she moved to Brazoria, Texas, to be near her son, Jimmy Simunek.

Lillie served her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed Polka music, dancing and visiting with family and friends. One of her greatest joys was fishing with her grandchildren and cooking their day's catch. She also enjoyed crocheting and presenting the items to her family and friends. Her grandchildren always looked forward to her dumpling soup, sauerkraut and dumplings.

Lillie is survived by her son, Jimmy Simunek and wife Mary Anne of Brazoria, Texas; a brother, Joe Kudlac of Enid, Oklahoma; a son-in-law, Ed Ferda of Blackwell; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Simunek of Blackwell; eight grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
