Leslie Leroy Baldwin Jr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 57 years.

Leslie Leroy Baldwin Jr. was born on July 30, 1955, in Newton, Kansas, to Leslie L. "Pete" and Elizabeth Joan (Ertz) Baldwin Sr. As a young boy he moved with his family to Blackwell where he grew up attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduating from Blackwell High School in 1974. Following his education he began working with his father in the construction business. He later worked for Electron Corporation, Joe Self Chevrolet in Wichita, Shebester-Bechtel and Shepherd Oil Company. In 1982 he attended Pioneer Area Vo-Tech in Ponca City and studied to be an electrician. In 1990 he became disabled and was forced to retire. He was an avid member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Blackwell and served the church by helping various families and individuals. He enjoyed watching movies, playing guitar, writing poetry and watching football with his family.

He is survived by three sons, Daniel Baldwin and wife Misty of Garden City, Kansas, John Baldwin of Norman, Oklahoma, and David Baldwin of Medford, Oklahoma; a daughter, Julie Muret and husband Kyle of Stillwater, Oklahoma; a sister, Kathy Louise of Newkirk, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren, Daryan Martinez of Norman, Oklahoma, Landon Baldwin of Medford, Oklahoma, and Brett and Eryn Baldwin of Garden City, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 24th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel, with President Jerry Dickison of Ponca City officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his honor to the Leslie Baldwin Jr. Memorial Fund in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
