Obituary
Leona Pauline Ray of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Tuesday morning, October 14, 2008, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 77 years.
Leona Pauline Ray was born on December 24, 1930, in El Dorado, Kansas, to Lloyd Arthur and Inice Lorraine (Cartwright) Meek. She grew up in El Dorado until the age of eight when she moved to Wichita, Kansas, to live with her aunt. She married Homer Bonham in 1945 in Wichita and they settled in Wichita. In 1946 they moved to Blackwell to make their home. She later married Harold Thomas Ray on December 19, 1979, in Blackwell and they settled in Blackwell. He preceded her in death and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Groom of Kingsland, Texas; four grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Merle A. Meek; and a sister, Donna L. Meek.
At her request she was cremated and there will be no services.
