Larry Allen Wunderlich of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, a the age of 70 years.
Larry Allen Wunderlich was born on July 26, 1942, in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, to Gale and Nola Bernice (Adkins) Wunderlich. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. Following his education he began working at the Blackwell Golf Course as the greens superintendent. He then worked for Air System Components in Ponca City as a sheet metal fabricator and spot welder working for twenty years and retiring in 1994. He also worked for McDonalds and as an assistant truck driver. On August 21, 1993, he married Crystal Yelsma-Barwick in Blackwell and they made their home in Blackwell. He was an active member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, dancing, working jigsaw puzzles, and word puzzles, and loved spending time with his cat, Prince.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal Wunderlich of Blackwell; a brother, Donald R. Wunderlich of Lexington, North Carolina, and three cousins, Paula Simmons, Jim Cook and Donald R. Adkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Ronald, Eugene and Karl Wunderlich.
Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26th in the Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Lindsey Autry, Stephen Royster, Frank Simmons, Mickey Phillips, Larry Wyckoff and Chris Davis.
Honorary Casketbearers will be the Holy Grounds Coffee Shop Wednesday Night Men's Prayer Group.
A memorial has been established in his memorial with the Galichia Heart Hospital in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
