Obituary

Gloria June Jamieson of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, died Friday, June 6, 2008, near Deer Creek, Oklahoma, at the age of 68 years.

Gloria June Jamieson was born on February 23, 1940, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Alfred Don and Beulah (Epperly) Henry. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. She married Darrell Jamieson on November 10, 1956, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and they made their home in Blackwell. In 1961 they move to Deer Creek, Oklahoma, where she served her family as a homemaker. In 1988 she went to work for the Nardin, Deer Creek Post Offices as a part time mail clerk. In 1993 she also began working at the Lamont Convenience Store and later became full time at the Deer Creek Post Office as a clerk. She was a member of the Nardin Methodist Church in Nardin, Oklahoma. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved Sunday gatherings with her family. She loved to sew, read and cook.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Jamieson of Deer Creek, Oklahoma; one son, Darren Jamieson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three daughters, Tammy Hoemann and husband Rick of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, Kimberlye Mayer and husband Roger of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Vicki Corbitt and husband Tim of Blackwell, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Brock Hoemann and wife Casey of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, Melissa Harold of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, Brett Hoemann of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, Derek Mayer and wife Kendra of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Nathan Mayer and wife Monica of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Dan Mayer and wife Jonita of Wilburton, Oklahoma, Tiffany Mayer of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Mandi Mayer of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Jonathan Corbitt and Fiancé Lacy Knapp of Ada, Oklahoma, and Tyler Corbitt and wife Kyla of Blackwell, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren, Blake, Emily, Blane, Austin, Adrienne, Wyatt, Kylie, Brayden, Layne, Hunter, Dillon, Kaylee, Trenton, Emily, Taegin, Tayler, and Kaetyn; two sisters, Betty Whitehead of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Stella Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three brothers, Donald Henry of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Richard Henry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Bobby Henry of Wichita, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Steven Jamieson; one daughter, Rhonda Woodward; one grandson, Matthew Woodward; one brother, Alfred Henry; and two sisters, Joyce McMartin, and Catherine Henry.

Services are set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in Nardin, Oklahoma, with Rev. Robert Foos officiating; burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin, Oklahoma.

Casketbearers will be Derek R. Mayer, Nathan W. Mayer, Dan H. Mayer, Jonathan M. Corbitt, Tyler D. Corbitt, Brett S. Hoemann, and Brock N. Hoemann.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Rick Hoemann, Roger Mayer, and Tim Corbitt.

A Memorial has been established in memory of June Jamieson at the Raindrops Child Loss Center in Ponca City, Oklahoma, c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
