Julie Doreen Hodges of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Thursday morning, October 2, 2008, in the Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 40 years.
Julie Doreen Hodges was born on March 23, 1968, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Kenneth Neil and Betty Arline (Lively) Hodges. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools graduating from Blackwell High School in 1986. She then along with her companion, Greg Deffner, began building and operating cable companies in various states. In July of 1997 they returned to Blackwell and began Get Real Cable. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Betty Hodges of Medford, Oklahoma; her friend, Chad Carey of Fairview, Oklahoma; father of her children, Greg Deffner of Blackwell, Oklahoma; three sons, Benjamin, Jacob and Patrick Deffner all of Blackwell, Oklahoma; and a brother, Troy Hodges of Medford, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her father; and grandparents, Rolland and Helen Hodges and Floyd and Audry Lively.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 7th, in the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Larry Adkisson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosemound Cemetery in Medford, Oklahoma.
A memorial has been established with the Kidney Foundation in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
