Joshua Michael Martinez of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 39 years.
Joshua Michael Martinez was born on November 24, 1986, in Manteca, California. He was the son of Joseph and Carol (Strickland) Martinez. He grew up in Modesto, California, and attended the Modesto Public Schools. In 2004, he moved with his family to Blackwell, where he attended Blackwell High School. Following his education, he married Shelby Epperly, and they had one daughter, Anna Martinez. He later married Meagan Kesinger, and they had two children together: Lincoln and Avery Martinez.
He worked for the City of Ponca City. He loved God, his family, and his friends. He grew up playing baseball, and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed the lake, and the friends and family get-togethers. He loved to make people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa McPhee; and two brothers: Raymond Martinez, and Jason Martinez.
He is survived by his children: Anna Martinez, Lincoln Martinez, and Avery Martinez, all of Blackwell; his mother Carol Martinez of Blackwell; father Joseph Martinez, of Fair Oaks, California; two sisters: Jessica Dyer and husband Timothy of Blackwell, and Rachel Martinez of Spring, Texas; two brothers: Bradley McPhee of Texas, and JoJo Martinez of Stockton, California; one grandson, Asher Martinez; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Roberts and Son Funeral Home, Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Koch officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joshua’s honor to the BancFirst - Children of Joshua Martinez Fund, c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
