Obituary

Joan Marion (Anderson) Arnold was born on April 28, 1932, in Dilworth, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Levi and Leona (Bryan) Anderson. She grew up in the Dilworth Community and attended Dilworth Grade School and then Braman High School. As a young girl she attended the First Baptist Church in Braman and at the age of 15 she accepted Jesus into her heart. On October 8, 1949, she married Merle Eugene Arnold and they lived in Braman, Dilworth and Blackwell, Oklahoma during their marriage. She cleaned houses for many people and sold Avon for over 30 years. She enjoyed bowling and bowled for many years and was Blackwell's first horseshoe pitcher. She was a member of the Braman First Baptist Church and in 1994 became a member of the Blackwell First Baptist Church. On June 10, 1994, Merle preceded her in death and she continued to make Braman her home.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Eugene Arnold and wife Sandy of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Tommy Joe Arnold and wife Debby of Ponca City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Kira Bruce and husband Stuart, Bonnie Lea McReynolds and husband Joshua, Sara Jean Arnold, Levi Arnold, Krista Lee Hatfield and husband Chris, and Deidre Jo Arnold; three great grandchildren, Natalie Grace Bruce, Reagan Jean McReynolds, and Ariana Faith Bruce; four sisters-in-law, Louise Rigdon and husband Bill of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Shirley Mayden and husband Don of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Sue Sheppard of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Glenda Kincaid and husband Carl of Louisiana, one brother-in-law, Henry Pendergraft of Blackwell, Oklahoma; and a very special friend, Robert Evans.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter; one brother, Leroy Anderson; and two sisters, Betty Pendergraft and Margaret Nutter.

Services are set for 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Rev. Michael Moers will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackwell Cemetery. Family will serve as casketbearers. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
