Jerry S. Reid Jr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday morning, June 25, 2017, at the Blackwell Regional Hospital Emergency Room, Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 65 years.

Jerry S. Reid Jr. was born on March 10, 1952, in Nardin, Oklahoma, to Jerry S. and Berneice (Akins) Reid Jr. He attended Blackwell Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1970. He married Billie Louise Bennett on April 9, 1973, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was the water plant supervisor for the city of Blackwell. He was an excellent mechanic, specializing in transmissions and carburetors. He was interested in Blackwell politics, running for mayor and city commissioner, to better his community. He enjoyed watching car racing, western movies, building with his hands, listening to Elvis and helping anyone with a need.

He is survived by his wife, Billie Louise Reid of Blackwell; one son, Jerry S. Reid III and wife Britni of Yukon; two grandchildren, Cohen and Jerrett Reid of Yukon; and one brother, Dennis Reid and wife Pam of Blackwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Charlotte Reid.

Memorial services is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the Free Will Baptist Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Kevin Bookout officiating

Honorary bearers will be Leroy Thiele, Dean McConnell, Ronnie Teer, Charley Zimmerschied, Mel Cann, Eddie Pendergraft and Frank Gregory.
