Jasmine Dawn McCurry of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Wednesday evening, July 30, 2008, in the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 16 years.
Jasmine Dawn McCurry was born on May 26, 1992, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Pat and Sharon (Green) McCurry. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools and would have been a junior at Blackwell High School this fall. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell and the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed watching movies, listening to music and working on the computer.
She is survived by her parents, Pat and Sharon McCurry of Blackwell; grandparents, Glenn and Vera McCurry of Blackwell; five sisters, Stephanie Skaggs of Blackwell, Lisa Appleby of Texas, Holly McCurry of North Carolina, Patricia McCurry of Blackwell, and Jeanette McCurry of Blackwell; and a brother, James McCurry of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Juanita Green; and a sister, Laurie Spencer.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 4th, in the Blackwell High School Auditorium with the Rev. Jeff Koch of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Serving as casketbearers will be Patrick A. McCurry, James K. McCurry, Wesley G. McCurry, Lonnie Purdy, Ronald D. Skaggs and Kevin Rothgeb. Honorary casketbearers will be Dennis Bonewell, Travis Miller, Jonathan Smith, Brad Reames and Jared Reames.
A memorial has been established with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Research in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
