Jan Joan Angle was born on September 20, 1931, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Charlie and Margaret (Kinney) Perkins. As a toddler, Jan was adopted by Andrew Thomas "A.T." and Blanche Crawford. She attended Blackwell Public Schools until moving to California just prior to high school graduation. Jan then attended the University of California at Berkley. She married Merle Angle of Blackwell in 1954. She resided in Blackwell until moving to Edmond, Oklahoma. She later had the opportunity to move to Pueblo, Colorado. Jan lived there until moving back to Kay County in 2004.
Jan's musical talent was quite evident and she was a very well respected teacher and performer. She taught private piano, organ and voice lessons throughout her life. She was also a church organist for fifty-seven years. While living in Edmond and Pueblo, she worked for Edmond Music and Gilliam Music, respectively.
Her musical abilities afforded her many opportunities to entertain at a multitude of social events. Many of these events included the opportunity to meet and/or perform with politicians, well-known entertainers and sports figures. Over the years, Jan's music touched many lives and was instrumental in building lifelong friendships.
Because of her musical influence on a countless number of students, her legacy has left behind a renowned orchestral conductor, theatre performers, professional musicians, and numerous persons with a love for music.
Survivors include her five children, which include four sons, David Angle of Oklahoma City, Jeff Angle and wife Maria of Bartlesville, Mike Angle and wife Teresa of Ponca City, and Kirk Angle of Ponca City; a daughter, Teresa Hill and husband Roger of Hobart. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Ethan Angle of Broken Arrow, Dustin Angle of Bartlesville, Kristin Angle of Stillwater, Drew Angle of Ponca City and Laura Hill of Norman. Jan was blessed with one great granchild, Mason Angle of Bartlesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Gayle Angle.
All who knew Jan can cherish and hold dear her greatest gifts; those of love, beauty, faith, strength, generosity and goodness. The unselfish and giving manner in which she lived was a blessing known by all who crossed her path.
Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 22nd, in the Roberts Chapel in Blackwell with the Rev. Don Angle officiating.
