Obituary

James Charlie Truhlar of Medford, Oklahoma, died early Saturday morning, June 28, 2008, in the St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years.

James Charlie Truhlar was born on April 6, 1938, near Deer Creek, Oklahoma, to Charlie and Rose Mildred (Pribl) Truhlar. He grew up on a farm northwest of Deer Creek graduating from Deer Creek High School in 1956. He furthered his education by attending electronics school in Wichita, Kansas. After completion he returned to Deer Creek and began working for Grant County District 2 before working at Atwoods until the store closed. He then began working for Mock Floors in Ponca City before becoming service manager for Anderson Chevrolet in Medford. He married Meredith Sue Baker on January 30, 1969, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and they settled in Medford. He later began his farming operation and pumping oil wells and continued until ill health forced his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and guns. He was known to be able to fix anything.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Truhlar of Medford, Oklahoma; a daughter, Kara Rachelle Hall of Ripley, Oklahoma; two sisters, Glenda Wise of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Charla Sproull of Lamont, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 1st in the Renfro Czech Cemetery in Medford, Oklahoma, with the Rev. Stewart Johnson of the First Nazarene Church in Medford officiaing. Burial will follow in the Renfro Czech Cemetery.
