James "Jim" Allen Rogers of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on August 25, 2013, in the St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of 56 years.
Jim Rogers was born on May 11, 1957, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Jack Allen and Sharon "Sherry" Kaye Rogers. He attended high school in Tonkawa, graduating with the Class of 1975. He furthered his education by attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Following his education, Jim enjoyed traveling extensively and raising and caring for Capuchin monkeys. He loved gardening and was a talented floral designer. He possessed a great appreciation for music, art and architecture and was an avid collector of Art Deco objects and other memorabilia.
Although Jim struggled with health issues for many years, his family and friends remember his caring and compassionate manner. He enjoyed life and knew how to have fun sharing his enthusiasm with everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his parents; a sister, Jana Jordan and her husband Mark of Stillwater; a brother, Jeff Rogers and his wife Kathy of Tulsa; nephews, Gabe, Paul and John Rogers and Bayley Jordan; and nieces, Mary and Grace Rogers and Evan Jordan.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with longtime friend, Kevin Ditmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
