Obituary

Jacqueline Mae Shouse formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday morning, May 24, 2013, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 85 years.

Jacqueline Mae Shouse was born on April 22, 1928, in Eddy, Oklahoma, to Guy Frazier and Beulah Bernice (Craven) Bennett. She graduated from Amarillo Texas High School and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. She married Buster Shouse on June 12, 1955, in Blackwell and they made Blackwell their home. She worked for many years for Conoco in Ponca City before her retirement. Her husband preceded her in death on August 18, 2002, and she continued to make Blackwell her home until she moved to Austin, Texas, to be near her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell and Order of Eastern Star in Ponca City.

She is survived by two brothers, Gordon Bennett of Jacksonville, Texas, and Duane Bennett and wife Judy of Pflugerville, Texas; a sister-in-law, Gloria Bennett of Grand Junction, Colorado; two brothers-in-law, John Shouse and wife June and Bob Shouse and wife Joyce; nieces, Deedra Bennett Schnaitter of Crested Butte, Colorado, and Erin Bennett Duke of Austin, Texas; nephews, Bryon Bennett of Guymon, Oklahoma, David Singhiser of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Chris Bennett of Georgetown, Texas; and many friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Bennett; and step-mothers, Ethel Bennett and Lillian Bennett.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 28th in the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Russell McAlister of the First United Methodist Church, South Haven, Kansas, officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Wayne Purdy and the Friendship Sunday School Class.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the American Red Cross Western Kay Chapter in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
