Iva Rosebaugh Tingley, 92 of rural Nardin, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, at her home with her family at her bedside.
Iva was born on November 5, 1920, on the homestead north of Nardin to Cynthia Bennett and Vern Rosebaugh. After moving to the dairy farm west of Nardin, Iva attended Hurley and Nardin High School through the eleventh grade. She graduated from Blackwell High School in 1938. Then she attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College for one year and transferred to Enid Business College where she graduated in Business Administration and met her future husband. She worked for a short time in the accounting department ofLong Bell Lumber Company in Enid.
On December 24, 1942, she married Everett C. Tingley in Wichita Falls, Texas. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her three children and a devoted daughter, and helped her father with his dairy until his death in 1978.
In retirement, they loved to travel and visit historical sites. They made several Farmers Union sponsored bus trips to the Washington D.C area, Pennsylvania battle sites, New York City, Niagara Falls and Hawaii. They enjoyed visiting many State Parks in Oklahoma and Arkansas in their travel trailer. They also enjoyed gardening and their large front yard garden was well known in the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Trent Rowe and a great-granddaughter Candice Roberts.
Iva is survived by husband Everett, of the home, one son Charles Tingley and wife Gerry of Ponca City, daughter Barbara Roberts and husband Ronnie of Hennessey, and daughter Jean Whittington and husband Wayne from rural Blackwell, grandchildren Steven and Christine Roberts, Stacy and Johnny Weber, Gary and Wendy Roberts, Todd and Jeanne Rowe, Stephanie and Cody Stone, Melissa and Michael Scroggins, Robert and Justina Whittington, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 1st in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin with Chaplain Tom Howard of Hospice of North Central Oklahoma officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her honor with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
