Howard Leroy Jennings of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died early Friday morning, October 28, 2011, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 73 years.
Howard Leroy Jennings was born on August 22, 1938, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Howard Vester and Eula Fae (Gardener) Jennings. He attended Deer Creek Public Schools graduating from Deer Creek High School. He married Mary Ann Logan on February 13, 1960, in Enid, Oklahoma, and worked at the Blackwell Zinc Company for a year. In 1963 they moved to Oklahoma City and he began working for Western Electric in 1969, which later became A.T. & T. Technologies. He retired after thirty-two years of service on June 30, 2001. Following retirement they spent the last eight years traveling across the United States in their R.V. He enjoyed hunting, camping and four-wheeling.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Jennings of Oklahoma City; his mother, Eula Fae Jennings of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; two sons, Darcy Lance Jennings of Blackwell and Mark Alan Jennings of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a daughter, Sherri Lea Driscoll of Schertz, Texas; a brother, Kenneth Jennings of Ponca City, Oklahoma; a sister, Glenda Pottieger of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1st in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Lanny Jobe of the Blackwell Church of Christ officiating.
A memorial has been established in his honor with the American Cancer Society in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
