Helen Irene Wright of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Thursday evening, May 3, 2012, at her home at the age of 87 years.

Helen Irene Wright was born on April 19, 1925, in Quaw, Oklahoma, to Floyd Albert and Artie Mish (Rowden) Brown. She grew up and attended Shamrock Public Schools graduating in 1943. She married W. A. Wright on January 12, 1943, in Wichita, Kansas, and they settled in Drumright, Oklahoma, where she served her family as a homemaker. In 1956 they moved to Richmond, California, and in 1959 they began the W. A. Motors Company in Richmond and San Pablo where she served as the company bookkeeper. After forty years they retired and in 1999 they moved to Ponca City to make their home. Her husband preceded her in death on March 8, 2009, and she continued to make Ponca City her home. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Ponca City and taught adult Sunday School classes in California for many years. She enjoyed attending various women's Bible Study groups, gardening and baking various desserts for her family.

She is survived by a son, Lanny Wright of Ponca City; three daughters, Sharon Wiseman and husband Dennis of Ponca City, Darlene LaBlue and husband Jim of Ponca City, and Rebekah Bennett and husband Michael of Pittsburgh, California; a sister, Patricia Cluck and husband Wayne of Loyalton, California; grandchildren, Brian Wiseman and wife Karen of Pawnee, Oklahoma, Dean Allen and wife Kathy of Ponca City, Deon Allen and wife Sarah of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Sheldon Barton of Pittsburg California, Gaylene Barton of Martinez, California, Pierce Wright of Pittsburg, California, MaryElizabeth Wright of Shore Acres, California, and Sterling Bennett of Pittsburg, California; and great grandchildren, Austin Allen of Ponca City, Madison, Mason and Jackson Allen all of Wichita, Kansas; and great great grandchildren, Dawson Allen of Ponca City and Anthony Allen of Ponca City.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Howard and Sherman Brown.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 11th in the First Assembly of God Church in Ponca City with the Rev. Micah Wells of the First Assembly of God Church and Rev. Brian Wiseman of Pawnee First Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow in the Longwood Cemetery in Ponca City.

Casketbearers will be Deon Allen, Rev. Brian Wiseman, Michael Bennett, Sheldon Barton, Gaylene Barton, MaryElizabeth Wright and Dean Allen. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Dennis Wiseman, Jim LaBlue, Austin Allen, Pierce Wright, Sterling Bennett and Jeff Shaver.
