Helen Lee Jones of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Sunday morning, October 24, 2010, in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years.
Helen Lee (Wilson) Jones was born on December 26, 1929, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Ernest Lee and Byrd Lee (Huddleston) Wilson. She attended Ponca City Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1948. She married Buddy Jones in 1949 in Ponca City, Oklahoma and they moved to Blackwell in the early 1950's. Helen was a sales representative for Sears catalogue sales selling extended warranties on various products. Her husband preceded her in death on April 9, 2006, as she continued to make Blackwell her home. She loved to make crafts, jewelry, and greeting, birthday and Christmas cards for family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Lee Morrill, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Linda Sue Leonard and husband Randy of Weatherford, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Jennifer Rowe and husband Jason of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Jason Morrill and wife Amy of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Josh Leonard of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Randi Sue Moynihan and husband Colby of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Jeremy Morrill of Blackwell, Oklahoma; and six great grandchildren, Kirsten Lee Rowe, Kaden Rowe, Hannah Morrill, Braden Morrill, Emma Morrill and Colin Morrill.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010, in the First Baptist Church of Blackwell with Rev, Mark Meador officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Serving as casketbearers will be Jennifer Rowe, Jason Rowe, Jason Morrill, Jeremy Morrill, Josh Leonard, Randy Leonard, Randi Sue Moynihan and Colby Moynihan.
