Harvey Earl Pameticky of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon April 1, 2011, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years.
Harvey Earl Pameticky was born on March 6, 1918, in Taloga, Oklahoma, to John and Mary (Jezek) Pameticky. Following graduating from Morrison High School in 1935, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp reaching the rank of Master Sergeant. He served in the Air Offensive in Japan, the South Philippines Liberation, the Western Pacific and Ryukyus before his honorable discharge in 1945. After the war Harvey became a well respected businessman joining his brothers in running the Lamont Hardware Store. He later took over Pam's Hardware Store in Blackwell, Oklahoma. On July 30, 1966, Harvey married Delores Ione Hansen and they settled in Blackwell. He was a twenty year veteran of the Lamont Fire Department. He held membership in the V.F.W. Post 2855 and the American Legion Post 0209. He also held membership in the Masonic Lodge 109, joining in 1955 and remaining an active member for nearly fifty-six years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Delores Pameticky of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two sons, Robert Pameticky and wife Sharon of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Tye Pameticky and wife April of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter Beverly (Pameticky) Mann and husband Steve of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Bridget Murphy, Sarah Pattison, Eric Pameticky, Cory McMullin, Shea McMullin, Amy Watkins, Jeff Mann, Chuck Mann and Leia Pameticky; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lee, Ed, Ernest and Johnny; and two sisters, Hazel, and Libby.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, April, 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Tony Pameticky of Wichita, Kansas, and Rev. Robert Montgomery of First United Methodist Church in Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lamont Cemetery in Lamont, Oklahoma.
Casketbearers are Merle Hardick, Warren White, Harold Aldrich, Don Muegge, Harold Lutes and Zack Waddell.
Honorary Casketbearers are the Lamont Legionnaires, Dr. Robert F. Morgan and Dr. Leonard White.
