Obituary

Harry Dexter Cross of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at his home in Blackwell at the age of 67 years.

Harry Dexter Cross was born on September 3, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Ralph Jefferson and Iva Irene (Hill) Cross Sr. As a young boy he moved with his family to Muskogee, Oklahoma, where he grew up and attended Muskogee Public Schools. He also attended Dilworth School northeast of Blackwell. While in high school he joined the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War in communications. Following his discharge he began working for Intel in California as a quality assurance engineer. His work took around the world. He retired from Intel in the mid 1980's and later moved to Dallas, Texas, where he joined business partner Ken Johnson. They supplied various services to Apple Corporation. In 1998 they moved to Blackwell where they continued working for Apple. Harry later worked for Get Real Cable for a short time. He enjoyed computers and guns.

He is survived by five sisters, Margarett Jones of Blackwell, Beverly Ann Toney of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Linda Jane Toney of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Ella Louise King of Osage, Oklahoma, and Mildred A. Kahn of Edmond, Oklahoma; and two brothers, Vernon E. Cross of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and Ralph Jefferson Cross Jr. of Calastoga, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas and Charles Cross; and three sisters, Bessie Mae Toney, Wanda Jean Noblett and Maxine Watkins.
