Obituary

"Happy" Beulah Mae Davis-Riseling was born on February 3, 1931, in Oakwood, Oklahoma, to Creyton and Edna Davis. She died on February 11, 2012, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 81. Happy had a beautiful, beautiful life and loved her family. Although she is absent from the body, she is present with the Lord. Happy was the devoted wife of L.C. "Bo" Riseling for 62 years, and the loving mother of Linda, Carol, Lesa, Larry and Creyton; grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren with two on the way. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed serving others. She served as Elder for the Southern Hills Christian Church in Edmond, deaconess for the First Christian Church in Blackwell, taught Bethel Bible Study at the Blackwell Christian Church and the Edmond Christian Home as well as teaching Sunday School. Happy also served in the community by leading the March of Dimes, serving as co-president of the Blackwell Arts and Humanities Council, president of Beta Sigma Phi, and was a member of PEO. She loved to follow the political field and supported her choice of candidates through actively participating in the "Rowley Girls" vocal group. Her nickname, "Happy" was who she was. Her smile, laugh and contagious fun spirit was loved by everyone. She was a beautiful lady in every sense of the word.

Happy is survived by her husband, Bo Riseling of Blackwell, Oklahoma, three daughters, Linda Vowel and husband Tony of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Carol Houghton and husband Gary of Cashion, Oklahoma, and Lesa Ward and husband David of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two sons, Larry Riseling and wife Susan of Dumas, Texas, and Creyton Riseling and wife Carrie of Casper, Wyoming; fifteen grandchildren, Lesa Elerick and husband John of Jones, Oklahoma, Jamie Marlen and husband Ryan of Edmond, Oklahoma, Blake Vowel and wife Candy of Beggs, Oklahoma, Jamin Houghton and wife Hilarie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lauren Canada and husband Nathan of Ocala, Florida; Paula Houghton of Edmond, Oklahoma; Michal Shaw and husband Wade of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Ann Rosales and husband Omar of Norman, Oklahoma; Craig, Madison, Molly and Reid Riseling of Dumas, Texas; Kylee, Caden and McKenna Riseling of Casper, Wyoming; 5 great grandchildren, Trip and Lily Elerick, Henry and Sam Shaw, and Blakely Vowel; one sister, Laurie Woodford of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Maxine Ball, Paula Merrit, Grace and Alma Foosc; and brothers, C.L. Davis and Fred Davis.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the First Christian Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Jeff Koch, First Christian Church, Blackwell, officiating.

Honorary casketbearers will be Larry Cannon, Frank Dyer, Jim Robinson, Andy Flynn, Bill McKenzie and Steve Fry.
