Gwendolyn Gladys Cline of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday evening, July 12, 2009, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell at the age of 93 years.
Gwendolyn Gladys Cline was born on June 15, 1916, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Edgar Oral and Crissa Belle (Southern) Clark. She grew up in Hoisington, Kansas, before moving to Enid, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Enid High School. Following her education she worked at various jobs until her marriage to Roy Lawrence Cline on September 22, 1939, in Enid, Oklahoma. Following their marriage she served her family as a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed her husband's career and caring for her family. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell. She also held membership in the Eastern Star and served as both a Camp Fire leader and Cub Scout leader. She was also active in the local P. T. A. She enjoyed square dancing, traveling to Colorado and cooking for friends and family.
She is survived by four daughters, Karen Kincheloe of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Suzanne McMasters of Lincoln, Nebraska, Barbara Hurst of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Shelley Muret of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a son, John Cline of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Robin Lawrence Cline; a brother, Clifton Clark; three sisters, Naida Gibson, Naomi Seagle and Joan Ladasau; a grandson, Mark Hurst; and two great grandchildren, Taylor and Brady Eckert.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 15th in the Blackwell Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Foos of Image Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Serving as honorary casketbearers will be the grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren of Gwendolyn Cline.
