Obituary

Glenn Henry Wicke of Deer Creek, Oklahoma passed away on November 19, 2021, at the age of 76 at his home.

He attended school in Deer Creek and later attended classes at Northern Oklahoma College. He served his county in the Army Reserves.

Glenn farmed small grains, raised cattle, and pastured stocker calves on wheat. He enjoyed raising horses, hunting hounds, hunting deer, elk, and cougars in Colorado. He had many hunting friends and greatly enjoyed helping neighbors with their cattle.

He looked forward to his yearly trips to Colorado with his wife Sandra, daughter, granddaughter, and friends. Wicke could also be found driving the country roads with his hunting dogs while listening to country music.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blackwell, Oklahoma, former member of the Deer Creek Volunteer Fire Department, proudly serving as chief at one time. He also served on the Clyde Coop Board.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Wicke and Marie (Luckart) Wicke; two sisters, Vesta Wicke of Newton, Kansas and Elsie Flaming and husband Horton, also of Newton, Kansas.

Survivors include wife, Sandra Wicke, of the home; daughter, Susan Howell and husband Brandon of Pernell, Oklahoma; granddaughter Kiana Kindle of Blackwell; great-granddaughter Audrey Marie Kindle, of Blackwell; nephews, Kevan (Brenda) Flaming of Iowa, Garth (Lisa) Flaming of Billings, Montana. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, George Wilhelm of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and William Wilhelm (Vicky) of Placita, New Mexico and their families; along with numerous cousins.

The family greatly appreciates the Miller EMS, Grant County Sheriff's Department, the members of the Deer Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the many friends and neighbors that came to offer help and support.
