Obituary

Geraldine "Jerry" Snow Fredrick of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday morning, December 5, 2011, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell at the age of 89 years.

Geraldine "Jerry" Snow Fredrick was born on July 23, 1922, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Cecil Paul and Aletha Elizabeth (Snow) Tyler. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1940. She married Thomas Hardin in November of 1941 in California and in 1942 she moved to Parsons, Kansas, where she began working for the Meadow Gold Creamery as the first woman in the state of Kansas to deliver a milk route. While working there she met and married Martin Patrick McNamara on November 27, 1943. The later resided in various communities in Kansas including Wichita where she worked for Boeing Aircraft. In the mid 1950's she moved to Littleton, Colorado, and worked as an executive secretary for Martin Missile in Denver. In 1962 she returned to Blackwell and worked as a bookkeeper for Scott Lumber Company and Blackwell Lumber Company. On December 30, 1982, she married Arthur Fredrick and they settled in Blackwell where she worked as a health care provider in Blackwell, Tonkawa and Ponca City. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, singing, yard work and her family, especially her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Hawkins and husband Max of Blackwell, Cynthia Ball of Blackwell, and Marilyn Sisney of Blackwell; three sons, Cecil McNamara of Blackwell, Bruce McNamara of Enid, Oklahoma, and Mark McNamara of Blackwell; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas, Martin and Arthur; a sister, Gaye Chase; and three sons, Danny, Macky and Mike McNamara.

Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 9th in the First Christian Church in Blackwell with James W. Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Marty McNamara, Joe Max Hawkins, Chad McNamara, Tyler McNamara, Brian Ball, L. K. Sisney, Jarrod Sisney, Dustin McNamara, Derrick McNamara, Mitch McNamara, Jim Bob Stewart, Will Stewart and Mike Aspinwall. The great grandchildren and great great grandchildren will serve as honorary casketbearers.

A memorial has been established in her honor with Image Hospice of Blackwell in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
