Faye Ward of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday evening, June 9, 2013, at her home in Blackwell at the age of 77 years.
Faye Ward was born on May 8, 1936, in Crawford, Oklahoma, Roger Mills County, to Elmer and Daisy (Kouts) Hall. She grew up in Roger Mills County until high school when they moved to Red Rock, Oklahoma, and she attended Red Rock Public Schools. Following her education she married Alden I. Ward on November 6, 1956, in Miami, Oklahoma, and they settled in Red Rock where she served her family as a homemaker. They moved to Kay County in 1959 and then to Blackwell in the early 1970's where she began working as a machine operator for Southwest Cupid until her retirement in 2001. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and playing bingo. She also enjoyed painting and was an accomplished artist.
She is survived by her husband, Alden Ward of Blackwell; three daughters, Teena Stone and companion Evan Compala of Ponca City, Verona Walton of Blackwell, and Valerie Hein and husband Joe of Ponca City; three sons, Ronald Hall and wife Noni of Blackwell, Irvin Ward and wife Lynn of Blackwell, and Warren Ward and wife Sue of Blackwell; a brother, Raymond Hall of Dayton, Texas; five sisters, Lucille Williams of Arnett, Oklahoma, Lorena Moore of Vici, Oklahoma, Velma Haydu of Madera, California, Cora Lee Shillings of Madera, California, and Fern Crawford of Vici, Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clarence, Theodore, Emett and James Hall; and two sisters, Lillie Williams and Veda Heinsoln.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12th in the Blackwell Cemetery with James W. Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her honor with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
