Evelyn Elizabeth Goff was born on August 14, 1918, in Ramona, Kansas, to Silas and Elsie Oswalt. She graduated from Plains High School in Plains, Kansas, and then furthered her education by attending Kansas State University in Manhattan before completing her education at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. She married Roger Goff in Bucklin, Kansas, on October 3, 1941. They moved to Blackwell in 1946 and she worked as a teller at Security Bank and Trust in Blackwell. Her husband preceded her in death on May 28, 1996, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She also held membership in the P.E.O. Sisterhood and Garden Club. She attended Bible Study Fellowship in Ponca City for five years. Evelyn enjoyed her pitch, bridge and canasta card clubs.
She is survived by her brother, Warren Oswalt and wife Mattie of Kremlin, Oklahoma; five nephews; two nieces; and a host of friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Tommy Lee Snook.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5th, in the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell. Rev. Larry Adkisson of First United Methodist Church and Rev. Brian Hays of Hillsdale Bible Church will officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Frank Dyer, Mac McMains, L. C. Riseling, Bob Williamson, Chuck Sprague and Dale Klingensmith. Honorary casketbearers will be the Friendship Sunday School Class
