Eucola Pearl (Harman) May of Nardin, Oklahoma, passed away on April 9, 2026, in Nardin, at the age of 90 years.
Eucola Pearl May was born on January 8, 1936, in Nardin, Oklahoma, on the farm her grandfather, E. A. Harman, had staked during the 1893 land run. She would continue to live there all throughout her life. She was the daughter of Irvil F. and Dora (Snyder) Harman.
Eucola attended Oak Grove Rural School, until its closure in 1942. While there, she tap danced and entertained all over the community. She would then finish school through the eighth grade at Valley Center Rural School. She then attended the Blackwell Lovell Junior High during the ninth grade, and eventually graduated with the Blackwell High School Class of 1954, with eleven years of perfect attendance.
Following graduation, she worked for the Blackwell Public Schools in the High School cafeteria until 1956. She then went to work for John Larsen, CPA – and continued working there through many transitional periods until she took over the business in 2011 as ePearls Tax and Accounting Solutions. She retired from there in January 2026, after a successful 69 years.
On August 29, 1967, Eucola married Hardy W. May in the Nardin Methodist Church. On April 6, 1972, they welcomed their newborn son, Hardy W. “Buddy” May, II. On August 5, 1973, Hardy Sr preceded her in death. Eucola would continue to work the farm with the help of her son and her older brother Delbert Harman. In 1974, her mother Dora stayed with them until her passing three years later.
Eucola was a bright, notable soul to all those she came in contact with. She loved helping on the farm and driving tractors. She loved going to Branson, Missouri with friends and family, where she was able to do her favorite pastimes: shopping and bowling. She always had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs and chickens. She loved spending her time serving her community and the Lord through her memberships, including the Nardin Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the Friends of Nardin, and the Eastern Star where she served as the Worthy Matron. However, above all, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren and being their biggest cheerleader.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hardy; and three brothers: Donald, Delbert, and one still-born brother.
She is survived by one son, Buddy May and wife Ollie of Nardin; and two grandchildren: Wyatt May and wife Ashlynn of Nardin, and Harlie May of Nardin. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A public visitiation will be held from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Thrusday, April 16, 2026, with a family greeting from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
A Funeral Service has been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, April 17, 2026, in the Nardin Community Church. Burial to follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eucola’s honor to either the Ponca City Gospel Jubilee, or to the Nardin Community Church, c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
