Eric Gordon Stone of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday evening, January 20, 2017, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years.

Eric Gordon Stone was born on September 16, 1931, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Philip and Elsie (Constant) Stone. He grew up in Blackwell, attending a rural Country school and Blackwell High School, graduating with the class of 1949. On January 24, 1954, he married Creasia Etta Germany in Heavener, Oklahoma, and made their home in Puerto Rico and New Jersey. He attended Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1964 and 1968. He began work for the USDA, ARS and worked in data processing until retirement in 1986. He was a charter member of the University Heights Baptist Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He volunteered for many years at the Wheatheart Nutrition Center. He enjoyed flying both during and after his tour with the United States Air Force, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by one son, Erin Stone of West Hills, California; one brother, Karl Stone and wife Jo Ann of Blackwell, Oklahoma; one sister, Laura Crumm and husband Delno of Anacortes, Washington; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Creasia.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Jim Constant, First Baptist Church, Colony, Oklahoma, officiating.
