Eleanor Louise Kretz of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, died Sunday, October 25, 2009, in the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 92 years.
Eleanor Louise Kretz was born on October 31, 1916, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Harry and Goldie (Duroy) Adams. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools graduating in 1935. She then moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she worked for several years at the Kress Department Store. She married Harold Martin Kretz on February 13, 1943, in Hutchinson, Kansas, and they settled on the farm north of Deer Creek where she assisted her husband with the farming operation and served her family as a homemaker. He husband preceded her in death on May 20, 1998, and she continued living on the farm. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, crocheting, feeding birds and shooting squirrels.
She is survived by her daughter, Ronda Cole of Port Aransas, Texas; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Helen, Phyllis and Jean; and a grandson, Robby Cole.
At her request there was a private family service held Thursday, October 29th, in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin, Oklahoma.
The family is grateful for the many prayers, cards and visits during this time.
