Obituary

Edith Loretta (Huffstutter) Shreck of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at Hillcrest Manor at the age of 102.

Edith was born in Foraker, Oklahoma, on the family farm to James and Lilly (Clampett) Huffstutter, as their seventh child. She attended the Maple Grove School, and would graduate from Ponca City High School.

During World War II, she would work for Conoco. Post-war, she would later work for Wes Dyer’s furniture, Fey’s Grocery, and Equity Finance.

In 1947, she married Lawrence Cordell Shreck in Wellington, Kansas. Together, they would have three children: Linda, Ray, and Ron.

She enjoyed cooking, reading, word puzzles, and watching movies. She also had the opportunity to go on two cruises with her daughter, Linda. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six siblings; and one daughter, Linda Shreck.

She is survived by her sons, Ray Shreck and wife Connie of Blackwell, and Ron Shreck of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren Geoff Shreck and wife Carolyn of Hampton, New Hampshire; Darrick Shreck and wife Kayla of Enid; John Shreck of El Paso, Texas; Kori Shreck-Sherman, and Jerimiah of Bakersfield, California; and Ty Shreck and wife Jill of Tonkawa. Great grandchildren Kevin Shreck of Tonkawa, Arabella Shreck of Tonkawa, Blake Shreck of Tonkawa, and Cooper Shreck of Enid.

Private family services will be held at a latter date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blackwell Church of Christ.
