Obituary

Dwaine "Blue" Allen LaBlue of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday evening, September 26, 2010, at his home in Blackwell at the age of 58 years.

Dwaine "Blue" Allen LaBlue was born on December 6, 1951, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to James Calvin and Veleta Geraldine (Williams) LaBlue. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. Following his education he began working in the oilfields before working on the construction of the Sooner Power Plant near Red Rock, Oklahoma. He also worked as a welder on various job sites. In 1986 he moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma, to make his home. He married Sharon Louise Strother on February 14, 1996, in Colorado, and they settled in Ft. Collins, Colorado, before returning to Blackwell in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, camping and raising pigeons.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon LaBlue of Blackwell, Oklahoma; his mother, Veleta Sherrill of Ponca City, Oklahoma; a son, Chris LaBlue of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Linda Pearson of Alex, Oklahoma, and Annie Bentz of Little Rock, Arkansas; and a brother, Kenny LaBlue of Wheatridge, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Dale and James Jr.

At his request, he was cremated and a service will be held at a later date.

A memorial has been established in his honor with the American Cancer Society in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
