Doreen Armstrong of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, June 6, 2010, at her home in Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years.
Doreen Armstrong was born on November 25, 1922 in Liverpool, England. She was the daughter of Thomas and Ada Bibby, but was reared in England by her grandmother. She attended school in England. Following her education she met Charles Armstrong and they were married during World War II. She came to the United States aboard a ship with other war brides and settled in Laurel, Montana, where they raised four children. She donated twenty-five years of service at the Community Hope in Laurel.
She is survived by one daughter, Diane Thompson, of Braman, Oklahoma; three sons, Nicolas Armstrong of Tacoma, Washington, Tim Armstrong of Helena, Montana, and Lee Armstrong of Billings, Montana; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Charles Armstrong.
Services are scheduled for a later date in Laurel Montana.
