Delores Mae Earnest, formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday, May 12, 2008, in the Edmond Specialty Hospital in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the age of 65 years.
Delores Mae Earnest was born on April 4, 1943, in Shidler, Oklahoma, to Melvin Gordon and Dorothy Mae (Burgett) Cassie. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools graduating in 1961. While in school she worked as a model for a photography studio in Blackwell. She furthered her education by attending Central State University in Edmond where she studied real estate and cosmetology. She then began working for the Edmond Evening Sun before starting Fabuclean House Cleaning Company which she operated for many years. She was a member of the Paint Tole Class. She was a very caring person and tried to bring joy to the people around her.
She is survived by a son, Harrison DeWayne Rowe of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Teresa Mae Rowe of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Brenda Ann (Lee) Lacy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a sister, Shirley Ann Watson of Blackwell; a brother, Jimmie Cassie of Tuttle, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and a great grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Crystal Simpson.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2008, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Mike Ebert officiating. Burial was in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – Heart Research in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
