David Alan Oder of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Wednesday morning, March 12, 2008, in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 61 years.
David Alan Oder was born on December 11, 1946, in Wellington, Kansas, to James Robert and Doris Jean (Conners) Oder. At the age of three he moved with his family to Blackwell where he grew attending Blackwell Public Schools graduating in 1966. He married Judith Ann Loveall on December 19, 1965, in Blackwell and they settled in Blackwell. Following his education he began working for the Blackwell Zinc Company for five years. He then began working for Sun Oil Company retiring after thirty-one years of service as a master craftsman. His work took his family to Waukomis, Oklahoma, Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Blackwell. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell. He also held membership in the Chikaskia Lodge #109 in Blackwell. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Oder of Blackwell; his mother, Doris Oder of Blackwell; a son, Jeff Oder of Waukomis, Oklahoma; three daughters, Carrie Belair of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Krista Clark of Blackwell and Molly Campbell of Blackwell; a sister, Cheryl Johns of Heinsfield, Georgia; two brothers, Derron Oder of Blackwell and Troy Oder of Jessup, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 14th, in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Rick Longcrier of First Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
