Obituary
Dale Allen Wright, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at the Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 81 years.
Dale Allen Wright was born on August 14, 1928, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was the son of Edward and Lois (Herman) Wright. He grew up in Nardin, Oklahoma, attending Nardin and Blackwell Public Schools. On September 1, 1950 he entered the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict and was discharged on July 17, 1952. He then returned to Blackwell where he began working at the Blackwell Water Plant where he worked for thirty four years before retiring. On November 19, 1966, he married Donna Compton in Wellington, Kansas and they made their home in Blackwell, Oklahoma.
Dale is survived by his wife, Donna, son Allen Wright of Oklahoma City, step-daughters Trudy Marshall of Pflugerville, TX, and Susan Rider of Minco, OK, and many other family members.
Services will be Saturday, October 24, 2009, at 10:00 am, at First Assembly of God in Blackwell, Oklahoma with Rev. Cody Busby officiating, burial will follow at the Blackwell Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be given to the Youth Ministry at First Assembly of God, Blackwell.
