Cleone Rebecca Deichman of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday, January 13, 2013, in the Shawnee Colonial Estates in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 92 years.
Cleone Rebecca Deichman was born on June 10, 1920, in Blackwell to Eugene Thomas and Millie Jane (Lee) Pierce. As an infant she moved with her family to Kusa, Oklahoma, and at the age of six returned to Blackwell where she attended Blackwell Public Schools and graduated in 1937. She married Charles Leonard Deichman on February 24, 1942, in Lamont, Oklahoma, and they settled in Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. In 1966 she attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa and in 1968 received her associate degree in business. On September 16, 1968, she began working for Conoco in Ponca City and worked there until her retirement in 1985. Her husband preceded her in death on April 22, 1970, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was involved with W.M.U. She also held membership in the Blackwell Hospital Auxiliary and the Desk and Derrick of Conoco. She enjoyed reading and various handcrafts.
She is survived by three sons, Joel H. Deichman of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Harold Deichman of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Charles Leonard Deichman Jr. of York, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren, Charles Deichman of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Jonathan Deichman of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Bundren of Oklahoma, Erin Bundren of Woodbridge, Virginia, Faith Clark of Missouri, Steve Deichman of York, Pennsylvania, Lisa Beth Bagg of Oklahoma, Sara Bugg of Oklahoma, Sherry Deichman of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Dee Friar of Choctaw, Oklahoma; six great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas Eugene Deichman; two sisters, Arlene Sawyer and Millie Barrows; and a brother, Laurence Spoon.
Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 18th in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Matt Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Charles Deichman, Jonathan Deichman, Mike Webb, Steve Webb, Lonnie Grace and Toby Grace will serve as casketbearers.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the First Baptist Church in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
