Clara Marie White of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Thursday afternoon, May 29, 2008, in the Ponca City Medical Center in Ponca City at the age of 87 years.
Clara Marie White was born on June 22, 1920, in Braman, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Harrison and Grace Mae (Sears) Clinkingbeard. She grew up in Braman attending Braman Public Schools. On June 10, 1936 she married Jack White. She worked at the Blackwell Laundry before going to work for the Ponca City Hospital where she worked as an aide for many years. She and Jack cared for foster children for many years. She also cared for many elderly patients for several years as well as caring for her mother, brother, sister, uncle and other family members. She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
She is survived by two daughters, Clara Koehler of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Shirley Hood of Shelknob, Missouri; a brother, Jack Clinkingbeard of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a sister, Wanda Kelly of Ponca City, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two children, Robert Kenneth White and Jacqueline White; brother, Robert Clinkingbeard; and a sister, Minnie Clinkingbeard.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 2nd, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with the Rev. Steve Hardin of Providence Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Isaac Plett, Joseph Plett, Isaiah Plett, Kenneth Koehler, Devon Hood and Caleb Brobston.
A memorial has been established with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Research in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
