Cheryl Lynn Eakins of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday afternoon, June 16, 2008, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 52 years.
Cheryl Lynn Eakins was born on March 13, 1956, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Donald Warren and Opal Daisy (Loveall) Henry. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. Following her education she worked at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home for five years. She was baptized on December 13, 1981. She married Tom Eakins on January 1, 1983, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell by Pastor David Helmer. Following their marriage they made the Blackwell community their home and she worked for fifteen years at the Southwest Cupid Corporation in Blackwell. She enjoyed tending to her yard, gardening, her dogs and family gatherings that included her nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell.
She is survived by her husband Tom Eakins of Blackwell; her father, Don Henry of Blackwell; a son, Paul Kerr of Blackwell; three sisters, Donna Stenger of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cathy Henry of Blackwell, and Brenda Morgan of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three brothers, Carl Henry, Larry Henry and David Henry all of Blackwell; grandchildren, Bryson, Riley, Maddison and Mariah Kerr of Blackwell; nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Matthue and Beth Mooring of Blackwell, Aaron, Michael and Amanda Morgan of Ponca City, Dusty, Dakota, Blake and Micah Henry of Blackwell, and Andrea Henry of Blackwell; and great nieces and nephews, Jourdyn, Matthew II and Meyah Mooring of Blackwell, and Promise and River Mooring-Fixico.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a daughter, Jamie Dawn.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 20th, in The Tabernacle in Blackwell with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin, Oklahoma.
Casketbearers will be Rich Eakins, Ryan Eakins, Aaron Morgan and Al Silvey.
A memorial has been established with the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
