Charlene Faye Koksal of Blackwell, Oklahoma, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell at the age of 69 years.

Charlene Faye Koksal was born on November 21, 1942, in Texhoma, Oklahoma, to John and Lavon (Jones) Koksal. She attended elementary and middle school in Texhoma before graduating from Elkhart High School in Elkhart, Kansas. Following her education she returned to Oklahoma and worked at a motel where she attained the position of assistant manager. She then moved to New Mexico where she worked at several jobs including post office as a star route carrier. She then returned to Elkhart where she worked at the El Rancho Motel as assistant manager before purchasing the Elkhart Motel which she owned and operated for several years. Due to ill-health she sold the motel and moved to Blackwell where she could be near her sister and brother-in-law. She was active in the local Chamber of Commerce and held membership in the First Christian Church in Elkhart where she enjoyed baking food for various church dinners and special events. Following her move to Blackwell she attended Victory Fellowship Church. At Christmas she would make candy, her specialty being divinity, and would give the candy as gifts.

She is survived by a son, Alan Osborn and wife Brenda of Richfield, Kansas; a daughter, Tammi LaFond of Elkhart, Kansas; a sister, Chris Farrington and husband Danny of Blackwell; six grandchildren, Michael LaFond and wife Brandi of Hays, Kansas, Jonathon LaFond and wife Heather of Elkhart, Kansas, Andrew LaFond of Hays, Kansas, Mathew LaFond of Elkhart, Kansas, Scott Osborn and wife Amber of Elkhart, Kansas, and Laura Osborn of Hougton, Kansas; four great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a great grandson.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with the Rev. Carolyn Rickner of the Victory Fellowship officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 12th in the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, Kansas, with the Rev. Jim Cunningham of the First Christian Church officiating.

Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Michael LaFond, Jonathon LaFond, Andrew LaFond, Mathew LaFond, Scott Osborn and Terry Fiscus.
