Lyndia "Carol" Sheets of Blackwell, Oklahoma, left to be with the Lord on October 29, 2009, in hospice care at Hillcrest Nursing Home at the age of 66 years.


Carol Sheets was born on August 22, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of A.J. and Virginia Johnson. She grew up in Oklahoma City attending Putnam City High School graduating in 1961. She then furthered her education at the Blackwell Professional Business College of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Carol married Walter Leland Sheets on July 7, 1967, and they made their home in Blackwell. Carol worked for Equity Insurance and then Dr. Robert Morgan for many years. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.


She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Walter Leland Sheets of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two daughters, Renee' Perkins and husband Marty of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and Becky Scott and husband John Hladyszewski of Denver, Colorado; one son, Charles "Chuck" Sheets of Tampa, Florida; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; Carol is the beloved sister of Bill Johnson and wife Pam of Boulder, Colorado; one brother-in-law, Jerry Sheets and wife Lynn of Winfield, Kansas; and loving aunt to three adorable nieces.


She was preceded in death by her parents; and in-laws, Raymond and Virginia Sheets.


Memorial Services are set for 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the Blackwell Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackwell Cemetery.
