Bonnie June Blankenship of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Thursday afternoon, January 28, 2010, at her home in Ponca City at the age of 75 years.
Bonnie June Blankenship was born on October 24, 1934, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to F. E. and Mabel (McReevy) Manley. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools graduating in 1953. Following her education she began working for the Kress Department Store in Blackwell. She later returned to the home to care for her family and lived in various parts of the United States. In 1980 she returned to Blackwell to make her home and began working at Wal-Mart. She also worked in home health care for several years. In 2007 she moved to Ponca City to make her home. She was a member of the First Christian Church and served as activities coordinator for the residents of Willow Creek. She enjoyed all types of arts and crafts, cooking, gardening and playing cards.
She is survived by three sons, Gerald Blankenship of Skiatook , Oklahoma, Joel Blankenship of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and Douglas Blankenship of Skiatook, Oklahoma; two sisters, Joan Thompson of Brazoria, Texas, and Jean Peterson of Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; a brother, Billy Manley of Brazoria, Texas; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Brenda K. Blankenship; three sisters, Mary Loveall, Marjorie Shelton and Pauline Shouse; and five brothers, Frank Manley, Kenneth Manley, Sonny Manley, Robert Manley and Ralph Brummet.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 2nd in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Blaine Herron of Four Square Gospel Church in Ponca City officiating. Burial to follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Darrell Thompson, Dennis Manley, Lennie Loveall, David Shelton, John Campbell and Tyler Clark.
