William Tracy "Bill" Simmons of Yukon, Oklahoma, died Monday evening, January 24, 2011, in the Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 44 years.
William Tracy "Bill" Simmons was born on February 18, 1966, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Tim E. and Dixie Lee (Tipton) Simmons. In 1973 he moved with his family to the state of Washington and in 1977 they settled in Worthington, Ohio, where he attended Worthington Public Schools graduating in 1984. He furthered his education by attending Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa before receiving a bachelor's degree in science and a master's degree in hotel and restaurant management from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He married Kelle Sue Eakins on August 10, 1991, in Blackwell. In 2001 they moved to Royse City, Texas, where he worked for Bank Imaging in their technology division. In 2007 they moved to Yukon, Oklahoma, and he worked for F.I.S. as a software applications specialist. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, cooking and old cars.
He is survived by his wife, Kelle Simmons of Yukon, Oklahoma; a son, Carson Simmons of Yukon, Oklahoma; his parents, Tim and Dixie Simmons of Columbus, Ohio; and two brothers, Michael Simmons of Quispamsis New Brunswick, Canada, and Justin Simmons of Florence, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Mary Francis Tipton and Hugh and Oleita Simmons.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with the Rev. Ryan Eakins of Rubottom, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
Serving as casketbearers will be Bryan Vassar, Mike McCormick, Jarret Tubb, Richard Eakins, Tom Eakins, Paul Kerr, Gavin Sneath and Greg Hilton.
