Betty June Greer, formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday evening, September 15, 2017, in the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City at the age of 94 years.
Betty June Greer was born on July 1, 1923, on a farm in Kildare, Oklahoma, to J.N.E. and Effie Wavy (Hadley) Muret. After living in Kildare, she moved with her family to Blackwell, where she attended Blackwell High School and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1941. Betty met her husband, Neal, at Blackwell High School, and they were married on October 12, 1941. Neal served in the United States Army for twenty-two years, and with him, they lived all over the world.
In 1960, Betty and her husband moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma to make their home. Betty worked at Mary's Nursery in Midwest City for thirty-eight years. She loved the children there and worked until she was 76 years old.
She is survived by her two children, Pamelia Greer Farrow of Palmdale, California, and Neal Curtis Greer II of Tuttle, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neal Curtis Greer; and sisters, Lucille Mae Frazier and Delores Law.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 19th in the Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. Rob Harris of Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church officiating.
Casketbearers will be Tim Farrow, Dale Harris, and DeWayne Muret.
