Barbara Sawyers went home to be with her loved ones on April 8, 2015. Barbara Sue Honeycutt Sawyers was born on January 30, 1947 in Stigler OK, to Troy Honeycutt and Lettie Zachary Honeycutt. At the age of 3, her family moved to Blackwell, where she attended school and graduated from Blackwell High School. On August 11, 1963 she married Robert Sawyers from Blackwell. They spent the first 2 years of their marriage in Germany, while Robert served in the military. They returned to Blackwell for a short time before moving to Ponca City, where they raised their 3 children and currently reside. Barbara worked for Graves Drug for more than 17 years and recently worked as a CNA at Westminster Village for 5 years. Her hobbies included fishing, going to concerts, taking special trips to Branson with her friends, and spending time family and friends. She really loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Robert Sawyers, of the home, one daughter, Shannon Sawyers of Ponca City, one son, Danny Sawyers of Pierce, CO, one brother, Kenneth Honeycutt of Birmingham AL, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Richard Sawyers, two sisters, Dorothy Curtis and Patrica Young, two brothers, Ronnie Zachary and Charles Honeycutt, one niece, Tammy Zachary and one nephew, TC Honeycutt. Donations can be made in her name to North Central Hospice of Ponca City. There will be a combined memorial service for the family and close friends of Barbara and her sister, Pat Young, at a later date.
