Barbara Jean Moss of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday, October 2, 2011, in the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 77 years.

Barbara Jean Moss was born on July 15, 1934, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to William Earl and Ruth (Carter) Beard. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. On August 20, 1951, she married John Edward Moss in Newkirk, Oklahoma, ant they made their home in Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. On December 4, 2003, her husband John preceded her in death and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and loved spending time with her family and babysitting her grandchildren and other children.

She is survived by four sons, Wayne Moss and wife Pat, Johnny Moss and wife Jayme, Larry Moss, and Troy Moss all of Blackwell; six daughters, Connie Dilbeck and husband Kirk of Victoria, Texas, Kathy Newton of Blackwell, Donna Ross and husband Eddie of Blackwell, Stephanie Creamer and husband Richard of Ponca City, Christy Brashears and husband Doug of Blackwell, and Kimberly Holden and husband John of Blackwell; twenty-two grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Earlene Epps, Marybelle Lupton, Belva Wright and Dorothy Corr; four brothers, Robert Kelly Beard, Dwight "Leo" Beard, Earl Junior Beard, and Arthur "Buck" Beard; a granddaughter, Brittanie Gardner and twin infant granddaughters.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6th in the Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. Matt Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the Blackwell Girl's Softball Association in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
