Audrey Ann Bennett of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday morning December 16, 2008, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell at the age of 62 years.
Audrey Ann Bennett was born on February 2, 1946, in Temple, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Leonard and Margie (Clark) Tyler. She grew up in Temple, Oklahoma, Madera, California, and Fresno, California, where she attended California Public Schools. Following her education she married Quincy Nash in 1962 and they settled in California. She attended the Church of Christ while in California and had two daughters Janet and Shelly. She later married Harold Stone in 1983 and they made their home in California until 1993 when they moved to Blackwell. Harold preceded her in death on April 17, 2001, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She then married Edward Bennett and they made their home in Ponca City. He preceded her in death in August of 2008. She loved life, being with her family, dancing, fishing, and her dogs. She also loved to listen to Brad Short play and country music.
She is survived by her mother, Margie Tyler of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two daughters, Janet Dozier of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Shelly Olmstead and husband Alva of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Wilma Bolton of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Frances Gillespie of Fresno, California; two brothers, Leonard Tyler of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Jerry Tyler of Visalia, California; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Tyler; one brother, Larry Tyler; and one sister, Wanda Brown.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, December 18, 2008, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
