With his family by his side, Farris M. "Andy" Anderson of Oklahoma City died unexpectedly on March 7, 2013 in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital at the age of 85 years.
Farris M. "Andy" Anderson was born on March 2, 1928, in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, to Harry H. and Ethel (Hughes) Anderson. He grew up in Grady County and attended Ninnekah Public Schools graduating in 1945. Following his education he entered the United States Navy serving during World War II. Upon his discharge on July 9, 1946, he began a long and successful career in restaurant equipment sales. He married Levita K. Bayless on June 25, 1975, and they settled in Oklahoma City. After over forty years in sales he retired and enjoyed playing golf and traveling. He also enjoyed a passion for gardening and shared the fruits of his labor with family and friends. He was a godly man who loved his Lord.
He is survived by his wife Levita of the home; children, Charlotte Anderson and husband Brad of Edmond, Oklahoma, Harry Anderson of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Cheryl Jeffries and husband Jay of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Christy Taylor and husband Jimmy of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Skip Bayless of New York City, New York, Rick Bayless and wife Deann of Chicago, Illinois, and LuAnn Tucker and husband Mike of Edmond, Oklahoma; a sister, Harriet Jo Sanders of Mullins, South Carolina; grandchildren, Tammy, Tristy, Piper, Meagan, Jennifer, Julie, Marissa, A.J., Lanie, Lane and Gracie; seven great grandchildren; and his beloved companion and pet, Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private celebration of life was held in the family home.
